Custom Mouth Guards Question

I wanted to ask a question that may be kind of stupid to anyone with a custom mouth guard. From what I can tell only impressions of the top teeth are made, does this mean that after the mouth guard is sent back it must be boiled to imprint the bottom teeth? Thanks,

yes. or super heated with a special blow torch. but boiling is probably safer.

Yeah, I'll put some up a bit later. Wife's got the camera at work right now.

Is there really a difference between getting an expensive custom one than just boiling the cheapo deapo one dollar mouthguard?

Amazing difference. It's like asking if getting a custom-tailored suit made for you is going to fit better than a $20 suit you found at Goodwill. It's specifically made for you, so it's perfect. Plus there's a whole lot more protection with a custom than a boil-n-bite, it covers more. It also won't fall out of your mouth unless you tug it out, so that won't be a problem anymore. If you plan on competing in MMA at all I would definently say it's a great buy.

Been a while so it may have changed, but I think I paid $100 which included shipping (keep in mind that you have to physically visit them if you need impressions), and mine was totally plain blue (just wasn't ready to get graphics as a newbie). Still holding up well after nearly a year of 5 day a week use. Good quality product. Just saw some of my old posts and realized I never did pics so I'll try to get some up.
