Curved focus pads?

I'm gonna purchase some focus pads and was wondering if I there is any benefit to curved pads vs regular focus pads. Also, who makes the best ones? I was at Dick's Sporting Goods and saw some focus pads there, but they felt cheap and crappy.

They might be curved so you don't slip off and punch the guy holding them?

If find you get a cleaner hit and they do reduce slipping some what. Fairtex are a good make. I went for cheep, flat ones to start with. Was a mistake. They just fell apart.

Curved mits are much more comfy for the holder.

I recommend going to Titleboxing.com or Ringside.com. I perfer the curved because of the ball in hand compartment. They're more comfortable to hit, but make sure when you hold it that they punch in the curve or else they'll make your wrist overextend, esp. in combos.

I'm looking at the curved focus mitts from Combat Sports. I'd like to get a belly pad as well. Any thoughts on those?
