Cup/jockstrap for compression and boardshorts?

I wear long compression shorts and board shorts(not at the same time) to my no-gi class so I was wondering would it be better to get a groin protector or should I buy a cup and a jockstrap? Obviously with the compression shorts I can just put a cup in there but since I wear boardshorts as well what would be easier? I was looking at something like this Twins Steel Cup from Title MMA but are those straps good enough during rolling?
If you have recommendations to any protection please feel free. Thanks.

I find for grappling, the compression shorts w/ cup combo works better than the Steel Thai cup. Steel cups for grappling is overkill at any rate. Try the Shock Doctor jock straps or comperssion shorts w/ cup. They might work for you.

I use an under armour compression short w/cup with my sprawls, both feel comfortable on. If i had to recommend I'd do the compression shorts and cup.

Combat Sports cup is the best I have found. There is a little padding on it and I find it to be comfortable. I wear the same thing you do and it works well for me. I have those cups in stock too. Or you can also get it right from Combat Sports but I think they charge a little more.

Do a search on cups and you will find a boat load of info. I prefer a traditional jock & cup over my compression shorts. I didn't like how compressions shorts w/ cup pocket held the cup in relation to my boys.

I would use the compression shorts, for me they fit better then Jock & cup, but its different for everyone.

Cross DX is on the mark here, Shock Doctor compression shorts with the cup have worked well for me. Comfortable and compression.
