CSI Gel Shock MMA Training Glove

Has anyone used the CSI Gel Shock MMA Training Glove? I'm thinking about getting them and would like some opinions. I searched and did not find any posts discussing them.

Thanks!

I'm surprised nobody has tried these yet. I might just order a pair and write up a something after.

from what i hear.. it does a wonderful job protecting your hands but it really hurts the guy you hit...

I have borrowed a friends CSI Gel Shock Bag Gloves in the past. I assume they are quite similar, apart from the thumb and centre grip.

blanko would be correct. With wraps on the Gel Shocks did a pretty decent job at protecting my hands- not great my any means (i.e. definately not a replacement for traditional bag gloves), but they would hurt like hell to get hit with. Depends on what you'd be using them for, I guess.

Shoot, I'm getting them for groundwork mostly and I don't like using traditional bag gloves. I thought with these I could get the best of both worlds i.e. good grip and also be able to hit my training partner with a little power

Well, I got these in the mail the other day. They are comfortable and appear to be well made. The leather is the thin leather that CSI appears to be using now on all their gloves. The Gel padding is EXTREMELY dense. The gloves seems to protect the knuckles very well, but would destroy your partners face. I just punched myself and a friend lightly because I did not want to have any visible wear on the gloves. Needless to say, the gloves were not soft at all. I'm definitely returning them and getting the Fairtex NHB Sparring Gloves.

My purpose for these gloves was for light standup sparring and ground & pound training. These gloves would not meet those needs because my partner would get injured. These gloves are just too firm.

That said, if you intend on LIGHTLY punching and/or doing bag work, they feel like they would be a pretty decent glove. (Assuming the leather holds up)

How are they like with grappling though? Do you get a good grip? Any danger of your fingers slipping out of loops? What size did you get and could you use wraps and still get the glove to fit comfortably? I'm thinking of ordering these this week unless anyone can think of a more suitable option? Thanks in advance.

The CSI MMA TRAINING Gloves are probably the best for grappling and striking. They have a similar grip as the ones you are looking at, but they also have better padding for sparring.
