If you buy from the US, you might also ask if the company ships any other route than UPS. We used to use UPS for shipping to Canada, but soon found out that it was charging your first born child to get your item. We've since moved on to FEDEX and USPS as we've been told it's CONSIDERABLY cheaper... FedEx is quicker and cheaper to ship, but I hear USPS duties and fees are next to nothing...

I like you already. Someone who not only pays attention, but actually gives a damn enough to do something about it. My first UPS experience was a hoodie from Everlast a couple of years ago. I ordered it from their website for $45 + $13 shipping. It arrived at my door and they required $94 to release it after UPS brokerage fees were applied.

I called Everlast and they played ignorant. I would love to see UPS take more heat over these practices. I spread mud about them every chance I get.

i got rapped by UPS on an exchange, they charged me almost $40 for me to accept a gi from a customer, i didn't even buy anything it was an exchange, but because there was value of the gi was higher then $39 they had to charge me that for brokerage/duties/taxes regardless.

Good stuff.

I'd like to add:
- BlindSide Gear

Good gear, awesome Customer service. Everything for grappling, Muay thai, Cryo-gel, MMA and even some street gear.

T shirts are pretty nice and only $20, Cryogel is $7, boxing gloves are $45 etc.

Shipping is really fast too (first order was less than 3 days).

Sometimes you have to adapt... it's actually a little more expensive (roughly $5-$8 between cost and insurance) on this end to ship USPS, but most people don't mind paying a little more on the front end to avoid getting raped on the back end. A problem with a lot of the smaller websites (I speak with former experience here) is that they dropship from their supplier, and most of the time they [the supplier] only want to use UPS or First Class Mail. We obviously know the problem with UPS and First Class Mail is rediculously slooooooooow. Priority is somewhat the way to go, but outside of insurance, there's no tracking number.

Trial and error my friends...
