Build a ring

Im planning on making my own ring, or some place to practice sparring matches at my home. What I was wondering is which model should I get? Two options I have is wether to go with a slightly elavated square platform made of wood or maybe even concrete, covered with protective mats. OR to plan on building my own boxing ring (I already saw a little bit on how they're built, but still need more info). So yeah, which would be better? And yes its gonna have to be outdoors, but its gonna be under a roof nonetheless.

i made a slightly raise wood platform out of 2x12's and then used 4x4 wood posts for teh corners and topped the ring off with 3/4 inch plywood

Well, I already checked out combat sports, and I really like what they have, but I dont really have that type of money. So the thing is I want a self made ring.
