top ten equipment?

has anyone tried top ten equipment? A training partner asked me about them but I dun know anything, just seen the name thrown around here and there. heard great things about the headgear. also, noticed many dutch guys use the gloves. also, what is the bayfill/bayflex/polyurethane material they say they use?

they make some wicked headgear, as for the bayfill might just be a cool way of saying injection molded

Top Ten gloves have been used exclusively in the Olympics for quite a few years. They're pretty much the standard at any Amateur boxing events here in Canada that I've seen as well.

I have the TOP-TEN training headgear and posted a review:
Review: Top-Ten Training Headgear (Pics)

As mentioned before, TOP-TEN is used for the Olympics, and I am pretty sure I saw it used in this past Pan-Am games.

so is the shock absorption for the headgear as good as they say it is? and how are the shin pads?

It feels as much like shock disbursement as shock absorption, as the Bayflex material is not nearly as pillow-like as a boxing glove or traditional head gear.

From the endorsements of the major organizations (IOC, AIBA, WAKO, WPF, etc.) and talking with others who have used TOP-TEN, I am confident the protection is at least as good as anything else available. Only one person of the 6 or so I spoke with that had tried the TOP-TEN actually preferred traditional headgear.

The TOP-TEN helmet makes a huge difference when taking a shot to the head. Unfortunately I don't have much experience with other head gear. I tried on Century's conventional head gear and did not find it as comfortable; it was bulky and restricted my vision a bit.

That is the standard headgear the fighters at my gym use for smokers. I haven't tried it myself yet though so I can't comment.

TOP TEN is quite popular in europe from what i understand, and the bayflex/ bayfill are just two different forms of a special polyurethane. I don't remember the details but google has the answers.
