They are a great way at getting around NSACs rule on fighters wearing wrestling shoes.

Couldn't you buy a pair of wrestling shoes and cut the toes off?

I think the current spray rubber on ankle supports is a violation of the NSAC shoe rule... modifying actual shoes would be an even more blatant violation and would never make it to the ring/cage.

Do ankle supports really work? I'm sick of twisting my ankles a lot. Do the supports work like taped ankles for football?

Depends on how bad your ankles are... I have strange ankle problems, they are very flexible, but about every six months or so I'll be doing something passive (like sitting on the couch watching a movie) and I'll move my ankle and BAM it'll feel like it exploded and I'll limp around for a couple days. The last time this happened I was playing in a poker tournament and it felt like I got shot in the foot... nobody had any idea WTF was going on.

So... I wear an ankle support after whenever it happens and it seems to help.

I have a similar problem to that so maybe it's time to invest in a pair.

They really do look like upside down ankle supports... That's kinda funny.
