I have 1 pair of fight shorts and I use old athletic and basketball shorts to roll. I have 1 gi (a judo one so its not very expensive). The only thing I really spent money on were rashguards. I have 4 of them. I bought them for sanitary reasons.

I work for a major bank where I am. Loan assessments (especially for houses) as a big part of my job. Biggest question, "Can I trust the guy sitting across from me to pay off the loan or are they likely to spend their pay before meeting their obligations here first?".
Bay area of what hahaha? I'm at the other side of the world from you. I reckon I'm underpaid but pretty much everyone else does too. Without even taking into consideration exchange rates, you're still earning more than me. But your cost of living would be a lot higher than mine too.
Don't get me wrong, I still do a ton of shopping and partying (way too much of both actually). But don't go out getting credit cards for the sake of doing them. They cost too much in the long run. Refinancing your house (not like that's possible anyway in the US these days) once should be enough of a lesson. Don't know why people still don't learn from it. It comes to a point when you go "Hang on, I've been paying off my house for so long now, how come I still owe the same amount?"

2 cups??
Mate you know you only have one set right? If that assumption is incorrect, the gear addiction is the least of your worries

The only reason I could see 2 cups is if one were made of a stronger material for standup only?

Addicted... Yeah, that's a Good Word for it
So, I've been rolling with a friend now for about a month and a half. I decided about about three weeks in that I wanted to join a school and start rolling about three times a week in both gi and no-gi. Since that decision here is the list of gear and other crap I've bought:
- 2 Under Armour Rashguards
- 1 Koral Rashguard
- 2 Under Armour Compression Shorts
- 2 Pair of Sprawls (1 size 40 and 1 size 38)
- 3 Gis
* 1 Vulkan size 5 which I'm going to return
* 1 Vulkan size 4 which I'm going to keep
* 1 Koral which I'm not sold on
- 1 3 lb can of protein
- 1 32 oz. Nalgene bottle
- 1 bottle of multivitamins
Let me say this: a credit card is a scary thing when you get a new hobby that has all kinds of cool gear.
