18oz gloves

Hey does anyone here use 18oz gloves? I was thinking of getting some to help get my arms stronger.
It's not predominantly to save my sparring partners face (I'm only 63kgs/ approx 140lbs, so i dont really hit hard) btw

Thoughts?

I'd suggest sticking with 16 oz... and at your weight, some would suggest 14 oz.

If you want stronger arms, just shadowbox with 16 oz gloves for 5 rounds a day. Afterwards do arm circles with the gloves on to failure. Add some various dumb bell raises and you'll be fine.

I would use the weighted gloves that allow you to add or remove the weights, which are inside the wrist of the glove. If your tight on funds you can remove the weights and you will have 16 0z gloves.

If moneys not an issue use these for your bag and mit work. Then get another pair of 16 oz for sparring.

When I get ready for fights I use 20 oz gloves since we fight in 10oz gloves. Talk to you're trainer first and see what he thinks. 18oz will slow you down a bit and get you tired faster, but the benefits are great. If you have training questions the first place you should ask is your trainer. Just my 2 cents.

This is what I was planning on doing, I just wanted some of your inputs. I think part of the reason I want some gloves is because I'm addicted to buying them. Thanks a lot ClampXVII your input was greatly appreciated.

I use 18 oz for MT training (6'1", 165 lb) and I think they're great. When I drop down to 14 oz I can tell a big difference in hand speed. I think it's a decent idea, just get compact 18 oz gloves (e.g. Everlast Professionals, my personal favorite)

I was thinking of, Fairtex Pro Sparring Gloves Locked Thumb Design BGL3 or Fairtex Professional Fight Gloves-BGL1 or Fairtex Super Sparring Gloves Locked Thumb BGV5

But again thanks for your input. I'm glad to see it's helped you. And for my Ammy fights i will be wearing 16/14oz gloves
