Whey protein, your experience

Just wondering if anyone who works out and takes Whey protein noticed a significant difference in muscle growth and how long it took to see these results. Debating whether or not its worth it. I have been working out 5 days a week for almost a year now, mostly arms chest shoulders back and abs stuff. Planning on adding some more lower body exercise when my knees stop being as bothersome. I have gained around 15 pounds of muscle so far which im pretty happy about considering how little body fat i have, but im trying to speed up the process a bit without anything stupid like roids.

any feedback would be appreciated

It's whey overated, but really, there's no good whey to tell.

(ok, I couldn't help myself. Two opportunity threads within minutes of each other. What are the chances? )

It's good if you have trouble getting enough protein/calories from real food. It's not magic or anything.

IMO its good for filler......like before I roll or train I use it as a meal replacement. Its not going to jack you up...it gives your body a boost of protien if your not getting enough from food.

I take it once a day unless I have Jiu Jitsu and I know Ill throw up a full meal.

Like someone said..its not magic

If you're trying to bulk up, you should definitely be supplementing with whey. PWO your body needs fast absorbing protein; I don't know any food you will be able to eat to compare to the digestibility of whey.

I may be whey over exaggerating this, but I read a study that said they gave whey to rats and then after a few months stopped. The rats had gotten so powerful they were able to breakout of their cages and one chewed a scientist face off.
