What to put on raw brocolli?

I'm not a big fan of brocolli but eating it raw is suppose to be really good for you.

Any suggestions on healthy stuff to dip it in/season it with?

Sadly nacho cheese sauce isn't an option

Dried Basil Leaves (the spice), Rosemary, and Parmesan and/or Romano Cheese. Shredded parmesan works a little better than grated parmesan, IMO.

Plus a teaspoon of olive oil or Smart Balance.

Why not steam it first? Is there a difference?

Edit: On another note earlier tonight I was having some broccoli and I didn't feel like steaming it so I had the genius idea of throwing it on a pan with a little olive oil. I forgot how long I had left the pan on the stove because I was checking on my chicken, which was outside on the grill, and as soon as I threw the broccoli on boiling hot oil started flying everywhere. Not just the little bit that shoots out sometimes when you're pan frying something. This was like fireworks. Needless to say I made a huge mess and got a couple mild burns on my arm. So I guess what I'm getting at is don't' be retarded like I was.

Is it safe to eat totally raw?

I just drop it into some boiling water for around 1 minute 30 and eat it then. still cruchy and stuff and seems to work well.

Is the short amount of cooking time really going to make a significant difference?
