how would I cut about 5-10 any not feel sluggish on the fight day? some boxing promoters I fight for require us to step on the scale 30 minutes before we fight. Obviously what you said about losing fat then weight would be nice.

I think you'd want to be REAL careful with de-hydration. You have almost no time to re-hydrate, and being dehydrated will definetly effect your performance. Plus, if I remember correctly, you're more prone to concussion/brain damage when de-hydrated.
I'd think water cutting would not suit you for 30 min weigh in at all.

Gosh........
If its your job to be an athlete, I understand.
But, if I got a job, have less time to work out and eat correctly, I can't do a lot of these things.
So, this all sounds great, but I gotta create my own diet. I do realize this is for "cutting" weight and not "losing" weight.
Yeah, if I gotta find the time to eat every 2 or 3 hours a day, lol, that ain't gonna happen if I get one lunch break.
In fact, I'm postponing getting a 2nd job in order to lose some weight. Cuz I know that when I get my ideal job, I ain't gonna have any time to workout and eat correctly. I'll get in shape first and then advance my income. Won't be able to ask my manager "hey, can I have some days off? I need time to get in shape".

What do you guys consider an easier/better transition... cutting weight (including muscle mass) and competing in a lower weight category or building muscle mass and competing in a higher weight class. Do you think there is more of a psychological advantage from being smaller but knowing you're fighting smaller guys, or getting bigger and fighting bigger guys but feeling stronger yourself? Or is it all just personal decision? I'm right between to weight classes and trying to figure out which way to go. Thanks
