Next, if you still have about a pound to lose do the wrestling trick with some bubbleicuos bubble gum ;) The sugar in the gum will make your mouth salivate like hell, spit spit spit... it sounds dumb but i have filled up water bottles just from spit before. That alone is a couple of pounds.
Now for food, you'll lose more weight than not eating if you buy a power bar and cut it into fourths. Eat one fourth of the bar every three hours. THis keeps you stronger and more importantly, your ****bolism up.
Last when it comes to rehydrating you need to start off with sips of water so your body excepts the water.
Spitting FTW it's saved me a couple of times

I've got a question about taking a K suppliment to keep the potassium in your system as you really start to limit the amount of salt which will limit the effectiveness of the sodium potassium pump in your cells.

Blood is .09 percent Sodium chloride. (Saline solution) Hypotonic distilled water actually causes swelling of cells. Take away the water towards the end and the cells dump all there contents as they have no sodium to retain the water. Sodium is out of cells as potassium is pumped in take away the sodium and the cells will lose water far easier.

IT is actually really complex and I was writing exams earlier so my brain is mush and this is as good as I can discribe it right now.

I'm quite lean at 6'1 and 176lbs, i have a kickboxing match in 5 weeks and would like to make 165lbs.

I have to eat my oatmeal in the morning to give me energy throughout the day but i can cut out all other carbs except those gained from eating some fruit and veg.

So if i follow these ideas i should lose 2lbs per week and make the weight limit!?

I've never bothered to drop weight before, so this should be interesting.

Thanks

based off of the first post, wouldn't it be better to eat complex carbs with every meal because they are slow digesting, rather than fruits because fruits have simple natural sugars?

I just want to be sure I'm doing this right. I need to drop 6-7 lbs and the it is a same day weigh in. I'm 5'7" 166. I'll have about 2-3 hours until I actually fight.

At 4 days out - no more carbs, start to lower calorie count, increase water intake to 2 gallons, and started taking metamucil 3 times a day (is this too soon?). As far as exercise - run in the morning and training in the evening.

At 2 days out - Keep diet and exercise the same but reduce water to 1 gallon for that day.

Day before - eat and drink as little as possible (like 500-600 calories). and stop eating 12 hours before weigh ins. no exercise at all.

Day of weigh in - (weigh in at 8 am) - just a little bit of water and if I have room to work with, maybe a small snack like a bagel. After the weigh in, I was going to eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich on wheat bread and drink a gatorade.

My main concern is that if I'm right on my weight the morning of the weigh in, I may not be able to drink any water or have a small snack. Will this hurt my strength and conditioning too much?

Any opinions would be appreciated.

It might. Do lots of HIIT and LSD cardio, and be prepared to spend lots of time in the sauna the day of weigh-ins.
