Weigh ins - same day of competiton

Do many people cut weight for BJJ tourneys? My first tourney is tomorrow and right now I'm 186.5 but want to get down to 179.9

I'll probably weight in 2-4 hours before my division starts and was wondering if that was enough for me to refuel / re-hydrate. I'm a complete noob to weight cutting, so please help

The most popular rehydration drink after cutting weight is Pedialyte. I'm not sure what food is going to help you though.

^ Maybe I'll eat some protein bars. Thanks for the drink. You know where I can find those?

Also will it be easy for me to lose 6 pounds in less than 24 hours by not eating/drinking anything?

Pedialyte can probably be found at your local drug strore. Longs or whatever u got.

EDIT* Thats too much weight to cut in a day anyway.

This is a recipe for disaster, you're going to kill yourself to make weight at the last minute, run the risk of stepping on the mat half replenished and hope to perform at 100%.....its not going to happen. Ask me how I know.

DON'T DO IT, if you want to be more than a grappling dummy.

ROFL

he has almost 16 hours to cut 7 lbs.

Depending on his BF% and everything it is possible and he'd still be fine.

Unfortunately he said he doesn't know what he's doing so.....

Hey guys,

Yeah this is my first time cutting weight. So far I think it's going good. I'm down to 182.5! So only 2.6 lbs to go! I'm around 5"7 with like 15%+ body fat so it's okay to lose some water weight right???!
