Icon9 Vitamin A - How much is too much?

It seems to be common knowledge that too much vitamin A is not a good thing - specifically in regards to bone health and the increased chance of fractures. According to an About.com article, they recommend nothing more than 3000 mcg (9900 IU) a day. Well, after looking at the info label on my GNC Ultra Mega Green multi, it contains 20000 IU - or 400% Daily value. So I was just wondering if my bones are going to disintegrate at any second. Because that would, as the great Wesley Willis once said, "...suck a honey badgers spermy dick!".

Taken from a random website:

Dietary retinol is associated with fractures, beta carotene is not

Retinol is the direct form of vitamin A found in most multivitamins, cod liver oil, liver, fortified foods, and whole milk products. Beta carotene, which is converted to vitamin A by the body, is not associated with an increased risk of fracture. Beta carotene is found in carrots, tomatoes, cantaloupe, spinach and other fruits and vegetables.

Even though 3/4 of that is from beta carotene, that still seems like a helluva lot in that gnc multi. Keep in mind that's 3 tablets worth for one dose, so you could always cut it down by 1/3.

No one has ever had any health concerns from any GNC Multi that isn't allergy-related.
