WOW - I have been taking a shot of apple cider vinegar every so often for years just to lower my high blood pressure but never realized it also helps in recovery. Yet another reason to keep taking it!

Thanks for the heads up. I'll add a dose to my PWO stack as well.

Many thanks. My parents firmly believe that apple cider vinegar is one of nature's panaceas... cures everything from high blood pressure to fungal infections to blindness. Methinks I might start adding some ACV (made that up myself) to my PWO shakes from now on, considering I have a touch of the hypertension myself.

I started taking apple cider vinager about 6 weeks ago on the advice of a nutritionist and it is absolutely amazing!! I was thinking of posting a thread asking about other peoples experience with it, but never got around to it. Anyways, I was told to use ORGANIC Apple Cider Vinager 5% acidity. You mix 2-3 tsp. in 8oz water, stir it up and drink 2-3x day, preferably after a meal ( al little more is ok after a VERY big meal!) The light vinegar and dark work the same, but if you drink the dark be sure to brush your teeth right after cause that shit stains. The ACV I use is called BRAGG Raw-Unfiltered organic Apple Cider Vinegar, but I don't remember where I got it. It tastes ok, but sometimes I put a few drops of Stevia in and it tastes better.

If you don't mind me asking, why did the nutritionist advise you to use ACV?

Well, I am a female, and I suffer from pms bloating and post migraines (like many women do). Plus, occasionally I have digestive problems. It was recommended to me, I thought it was hoohey but I tried it anyways. I noticed a HUGE improvement almost right away. Plus, I feel like I eat less and have more "mental alertness" after I take it. I have also been feeling MUCH better after my workouts, but I actually didn't attribute that to the ACV until I read this thread! So you asked, thats why it was recommended. What my girl told me was how it was really good in aiding digestion and how your body breaks down food. I admit I don't really know HOW it works, I just know it DOES.

Interesting; I wonder if this is along the same lines as Poliquin's recommendation of HCL post-consumption and nutrient absorbtion. I may just try using ACV more than PWO....
