Veggies at every feeding??

After reading the 7 eating habits, and also reading some excerpts from Grappler's Guide to Nutrition, eating veggies at every "meal opportunity" seems to be a recurring theme. Dumb question, but what's a good way to incorporate veggies into your breakfast?? I had been eating PB&J on whole wheat cuz it's quick, good and convenient. Other then a veggie omlette, anyone else have any suggestions? Also, for my mid morning and mid afternnon snacks, I have Muscle Milk. Should I, and how would I incorporate veggies into this meal?? I'm trying to refine my diet and get a little "stricter". Right now I'm dieing for a comp. and I feel I'm losing too much muscle. I have about 14lb to go, and 5 weeks left.

Jam/jelly ain't all that good either. If you own a juicer that's a great way to get some veggies for breakfast. V8 and similar bottled/canned veggie juices usually have a lot of sugar and sodium in them, but a juicer is a great investment.

Get some oats in at breakfast. It's quick and easy.

Here's what I had for Breakfast this AM...

3/4 cup oatmeal
1 scoop protein powder
1 teaspoon flax meal
1/4 cup blackberries
milk to desired consistancy

Put the flax, oats, milk and powder in a bowl and nuke for 1 minute, then add the berries.

I washed it down with a glass of OJ. As for veggies in the morning...don't know man, that's the only time of day I don't eat veggies...

if you're using organic peanut butter and 100% fruit jelly and whole wheat bread the PBJ is fine.

What are your goals? Are you trying to gain strength/mass? Trim down and get cut?

At this point, and with the time I have, I'm mostly trying to maintain muscle, and lose fat. (I'm 224lb and 24% bf) Later on, I may look to increase strength/lean mass. I had been using natural PB, but it was a real pain in the ass to mix. A couple other threads suggested that the transfat in regular PB was minimal, and not of major concern, so I switched back.

I make a fruit & yogurt shake with a Greens+ serving in it.

That's my one fruit replacement "meal opportunity" I allow myself each day.

For breakfast. sometimes I will make an omelet with raw spinach added (It's the only way I can eat spinach and, in fact, when raw it doesn't taste much different than lettuce to me.).

Other times for breakfast, I will still have eggs, but will mix some Greens+-like veggie powder in 8oz. of orange Crystal Light (That veggie stuff is disgusting with water, and OJ has too much sugar. The Crystal Light is only 5 calories per serving, so while it violates the rule of not drinking anything caloric, I can live with those 5 calories).

For my mid-morning feeding, I add raw spinach in the blender when making a protein shake.

For lunch and dinner, I eat a lot of steamed brocoli and cauliflower as part of my meals.

Finally, for my mid-afternoon meal, I include a side salad with, you guessed it, more raw spinach.
