Raw eggs are not absorbed by the body?

I read where Mad Mick and others said that raw egg proteins are not absorbed by the body as efficiently as cooked eggs. This is earth shattering to me. I always figured that heat denatures proteins and so I was really helping myself by throwing six raw eggs in a shake. Can one of you guys direct me to some literature on the subject? If it's in the FAQ, sorry, just tell me and i'll go there.

I think what MM said is true, but the difference is minimal so there's no need to worry. Here's a couple of posts from another thread on the subject:

Compare the nutrient differences between raw and cooked eggs here
Compare "Egg, whole, raw, fresh" and "Egg, whole, cooked, hard-boiled"

I also found this link through google which sounds reasonable enough to me.

The whole thing just seems like a non-issue to me.

There has been some limited research into lipid peroxidization of the yolk when cooked and it's effect as a free radical, but at this point, I wouldn't sweat it.
I regularly consume raw egg shakes. I wash the shell then blend gently.

Just noticed this... I really love the Turtle recipe from the PN contest, if I wasn't so lazy I'd make that twice a day. Good thread.

The easiest post-workout shake ever created....

BSN Syntha-6 Vanilla Ice Cream (1 scoop)
Orange Gatorade (8 oz)
Cold Water (2 oz)

Shake well & drink. Tastes like a creamsicle.
