is there such a thing as too much amino??

the amino acid i'm currently taking is a 10,000mg serving size... it doesnt suggest a max dosage....
i've been taking approx 25,000mg a day... i take with my shake in the morning.. take another at lunch... and take a 1/2 dose after i work out... sometimes a full ammount if i'm really blasted....

the results are good... it's helping me out... i just dont want to be doing any enternal damage...
so my question is????
can you over dose on the amino acids???

Which amino-acid? Are you taking a complex or a specific amino-acid. And my initial answer is that you can take too much of anything.

Well im not exactly sure about the what amino acids are in it, i think they key to everything in your diet should be in moderation. You can overdue everything. Yes even water.

most whey protein shakes have all the essential AAs in them, being whey is a complete protein. however, taking a separate AA pill or powder can be helpful because 1) they're already broken down, so there's essentially no, or little, calories, and 2) because of this, they are absorbed more quickly and better. I like to take them first thing in the morning and immediately after lifting(before and after cardio). I can't help you on dosage. Its depends on too many factors, and I don't want to misguide you.

300grams of protein is extremely excessive unless you are 260lb of muscle. You can even add fat pounds with this amount. Based on what you are saying, you do not even need this supplement since you are taking 25grams per day (which is just broken down protein). All of the protein you are ingesting means you are not remotely deficient in any of the amino acids in the supplement you are taking. Question, how old are you and what is your goal?

proteins are long chain amino acids (so when proteins break down they yield aminos)

10,000 mg of amino acids is basically 10 grams of protein. To take 10 grams of protein and then a protein shake is pointless.
