I saw you recommended it in your "Insane" cycle. But I don't understand why?
These are the listed ingredients:
SPIKE Formula, 473mg
Biotest® GBX [guarana-berry extract (containing theophylline and caffeine)], T-MAX™ [Biotest® proprietary thiamine di(2-methylpropionate) disulfide], natural caffeine, yohimbine HCl
Do you just like that it includes caffeine and yohimbine in one pill? Do you consider Yohimbine HCl that effective?

Well Mick, to be honest with you, I might consider revising that protocol. You see, I ordered some Spike last week, and I tried it a couple of days ago. It was the first time I had used it in the "hard ****llic" pill form. Previously, Spike was in a softgel, using Biotest's "nano-dispersion gel" technology that they talked about incessantly. I really don't react as well to the new form.
Nonetheless, I still like it on paper. The caffeine and yohimbine have little to do with that. On paper, salbutiamine (the thiamin analogue) is a great nootropic. Papers by Tiev and Balzamo (you have to know French) demonstrate salbutiamine to be effective in reducing stress-induced fatigue at dose of 400 and 600mg This appears to be significantly less than a standard dose of Spike, although Spike contains other stimulants as well. The latter paper was based on EEGs in non-human primates. This paper is less conclusive for me, as the n is very small, it is cross-species, and the dosage is ungodly (100mg/kg). There are other papers that demonstrate salbutiamine as an effective nootropic/CNS stimulant in disease state clinical trials.
Anyhow, I have read enough about this compound to approve of it. However, I am not as confident with the new formula.
