Sure fire Way to Lose Weight?

OK, here is the rundown. Sorry for being kind of long.

Im 23, and fairly active. Ive played soccer all my life up untill a few years ago. Now I play Aussie Rules Football and do Jiu Jitsu 3 days a week. Soccer obviously gets you into good shape, and even though Im still active Ive put on some weight since I dont train like in my high school and early college days. A good chunk of it is muscle. Ive done quite a bit of weight lifting too.

Im 5'10 210 lbs. I know I sound like a fat ass, but I have alot of muscle and really big legs from soccer. Alot of my weight is in the legs. But I have a gut.

The whole month of June I went running 6 days a week totaling about 10-12 miles each week. I got better cardio, but didnt drop a pound in weight. My legs are already big so I shouldnt be gaining weight from running. Diet stayed the same.

Now the question: Does anyone have a sure fire way to lose weight? Im thinking of doing the Chicken breast diet. Im gonna go all out on the exercise, but whats the best diet for dropping fat? Completely restrict my calories? Rice cakes all day? Just greens? Juice diets?

Im not a total noob to fitness, but if anyone has any inside info Id appreciate it.

Eat your chicken breasts yea, and eat a ton of vegetables and drink a ton of water and work your ass off. Nothing beats hard work, thats a sure fire way to get anything done.

Substitute sprints for long distance running for one. That will help a lot.

Is the chicken breast diet eating nothing but chicken breasts? If so, that is very wrong. Protein alone is very toxic. Rabbit Sickness can relate to this because it is very lean(80% protein, 20% fat). You need to have fat or carbs with protein.

IMO, the best approach is carb cycling. Get the majority of your calories from protein and fats (good fats such as flax oil, olive oil, etc), and keep carb intake under 30 grams. Then every 4th day to a carb up meal to retain your muscle mass and strength. This diet is very effective and you shouldn't have problems with energy as long as you take in those fats.

I also second this approach. I've been on the Cheat to Lose diet for a week which employs a carb cycling strategy. I was skeptical, especially after the Sunday day of gluttony, but I'll be damned if I didn't lose 3 pounds after a week. This is also a remarkable feat since I've been trying to drop a little weight and the scale just went up. (It was muscle gain, but no loss in fat)

Glad to see your doing well on the cheat to lose diet. I don't know anyone that hasn't seen great results when they've stuck to carb cycling. As long as you take in those healthy fats, it works almost like magic. I have just as much energy on the diet as i do when im eating carbs!
