Supplements to use while dieting - HMB?
I'm lifting 3 times a week, doing cardio (sprints, swimming, long distance running) 3 times a week, and about to start training BJJ and Muay Thai seriously again which amounts to about 5 1.5 hour sessions a week. I'm also about to start restricting my calorie intake to 2000-2200 a day. Currently I'm supplementing with a multivitamin, vitamin C, EFA's, and whey protein. I also have an ECA stack saved for later. Any suggestions to what else I should take?
I remember several years ago it was said that HMB decreased protein breakdown. It was also suggested that using HMB helped to reduce the amount of muscle lost while dieting down. Is this theory still valid? If not, then what supplements if any would help reduce the loss of strength and muscle associated with dieting down.

HMB is worthless unless you're old, bed-ridden, and have degenerative muscular disease.

Well I feel like it, I am voluntarily, and I'm getting there. So maybe it might work for me. Seriously though, any supplements that might help me preserve more muscle while cutting down?

I'd pick up some glutamine.

Why lose the aspirin? It extends the thermogenisis of the ECA; this makes it more useful for weight loss, less useful for preworkout stimulation.
You can try adding glutamine to your PWO shake. But really, dieting without losing muscle mass is all about nutrition. You have everything you need. Just make sure to keep your good fats up and maintain a high protein content.

If you're burning all those calories through cardio, BJJ and MT you might not need to cut back on your calories. In fact, you might need more.
What is your height and weight?

I think you won't have any problem losing fat with that killer routine.
Ever considered creatine monohydrate?
