Sorry if I was a little quick to jump the gun, there have been a lot of shitty threads popping up lately. But let me put it this way, from your original post:

First, you do realize that you need fat and consuming a little bit of fat is not going to make you fat, right?
Second, do you think the 87 kcal contained in an 8 oz glass of nonfat milk is going to effect you? You would have to drink a shitload of skim milk for that to make a difference. I mean, if you're drinking a gallon a day that's about 1380 kcal, then I could see your concern, but if you're drinking that many shakes a day you have some serious issues with your diet other than whether you mix your whey with milk or water.

Use whichever one you prefer, really. When I'm trying hard to cut weight, I usually use water. If i'm lifting hard and actually give a damn whether my protein shake tastes like shit, I use skim or 1% milk.

*eats 120g of protein in one meal*
this thread has some of the worst, most outdated and uninformed advice I've seen on here in a while.

Haha, I don't think it's quite as bad as that but I do get what you mean, there have been some stupid things posted here of late, like the guy who didn't understand why he weighed more in the evening than 1st thing in the morning or the guy who got two threads going over whether or not he should take whey protein.

Understandable man. Yeah I'm pretty much just drinking 1 post workout shake. Gonna do that one without milk and pre I will drink 1 with skim milk. I don't think I'll get too fat since I do my other workouts that i mentioned earlier as well.
