Fish oil IS fat; "fat-soluble" is used to describe substances that AREN'T fat, but are soluble IN fat.
Clear as mud?

A sales angle with the angle of sounding "better"---yet it's a weak pitch backed with no science.
Taken from this thread:

The Canadian government is probably scrambling to find a way to promote seal hunting, as it's an integral industry for certain communities, and their economy depends on it. People are more likely to buy fish oil versus seal oil based solely on the negative perception of seal hunting, so selling it based upon the fact it contains DPA, they are hoping that uneducated consumers will think they are getting a more healthy bang for their buck.

So I just hit the Walgreens, and only found one bottle of fish oil among many that expressly says "molecularly-distilled" on the bottle. It says in the ingredients list that the fish oil is "purified, molecularly-distilled pharmaceutical grade deep sea fish oil."
EPA/DHA per 1 softgel (each softgel is 1000mg) : 300mg EPA / 200mg DHA / 100 mg "Other Omega-3 Fatty Acids.
This shit was expensive, and set me back like $21 for 30 softgels. It's Iceland Health Brand and it seems legit, but am I getting reasonable payoff for pharmaceutical grade or does anyone know if TrueProtein uses a molecular distillation process? If so, I must buy from them.

Thats a rip off. I usually buy NatureMade double strength fish oils from Target. They do sell them at other places as well. $5.49 for 100 softgels. Plus you get a little bit of points you can redeem on the website and they give you a coupon to get a bottle for free.

Word.
I was in a hurry to get to Walgreens and buy something since they were closing, but upon return, and further research, the guys at TrueProtein claim that the source of their fish oil caps is Ocean Nutrition, the Meg-3 brand. I'm gonna do some sloppy math on this whole Costco thing and figure out whether that or TP.com is cheaper, shipping and discounts considered. Will update soon. Meanwhile, I'm gonna rubber cement this stuff back shut and return it to Walgreens tomorrow.

Lol! TP is a good price. 20 something bucks for 1000 pills but they are pretty low in EPA/DHA. So you'll have to pop probably about 15 pills a day. Not a big deal but at least with more EPA/DHA...you can take less. I take 6 gels a day.

Are the TP pills molecularly distilled?
