7 grams of total fish oil, or 7 grams of combined EPA/DHA?
If you mean EPA/DHA, That's getting above what most recommend. If you mean the former (total fish oil) it all depends on the EPA/DHA content. Assuming the standard 180/120, that'd be 2.1g EPA/DHA, which is fine. If it's the concentrated 400/200, that's 4.2g, which is a little above the recommended 3g, but it's still ok, IMO.

This is what it says in the back of the bottle.
Serving Size is 2 softgels.
EPA=672mg
DHA=552mg
I have been taking 6 a day. 2 in the morning, 2 afternoon, 2 at night (dinner)
Heres a link to it.

That's roughly 3.6g EPA/DHA daily. Perfect.

Oh ok. Now I got it. I thought for a sec that one softgel contained that much EPA and DHA. Thanks for the info!
EDIT: A little confused. ok, im so im taking about 3.6 EPA/DHA right...but also, per 2 softgels = Natural Fish oil Concentrate 2400mg. So thats about 8.4g of fish oil content, is that too much?

I'm assuming the EPA and DHA you posted was for 2 capsules; that's what I based the math on. If it's a case of one capsule equaling a total of 1,224mg of EPA/DHA, then you should only be taking 3 a day.

It was for 2 capsules, you had it right the first time. I believe his question is related to the other part of the capsule, not the omega 3. Isn't it just vitamin A etc?

As in total fish oil? Yes, I think I know where this is coming from. As an example:
1 standard fish oil capsule at 180 EPA and 120 DHA = 1000mg fish oil, 300mg EPA/DHA
Many, MANY people get confused over this when talking about optimal dosing. For the record, it's not the total fish oil, it's always the amount of EPA/DHA.

I've been taking fish oil for a while now and I always just took the recommended dose on the bottle, but juding from this thread that dose is for people that live a normal life (not training; little exercise) right?
Anyway on the bottle it says (serving size one softgel):
Natural Fish Oil Concentrate 850 mg
EPA 240 mg
DHA 200 mg
How many softgels should I be taking a day? I've only been taking 2 (the recommended dose) that's too few huh?
