B-50 Is just a multicomplex of B-vitamins together. In REALLY simple terms, it helps with energy. Off the top of my head, I think it actually has something to do with the Kreb's cycle....I think Madmick had a post around here somewhere explaining it. I'll start digging

Edit:

Ok, had a delayed flashback from college. Thiamine (B1) is required in the Kreb's cycle to help metabolize carbohydrates---but that's probably not why it's used in a nootropic formula. Thanks to Wiki here, though...

Wikipedia on Nootropics:

Vitamin B5 - cofactor in the conversion of choline into the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, cholinergic agent, increases stamina (including mental stamina).

Vitamin B6 - co-factor used by the body to produce dopamine.

Nicotinic acid (vitamin B3) - Essential nutrient. Mild enhancer of concentration and memory. Vasodilator. Mood stabilizer, with a powerful anti-anxiety effect — perhaps the best and most immediate stress reliever available (note that other forms of vitamin B3 do not have this effect). Side effects: gastric upset (which is easily prevented and relieved with antacids), reduced blood pressure and flushing of the skin (caused by vasodilation), and itchy sensation in the skin caused by histamine release.

The whole damn Wiki page on nootropics can be found here.

I didn't notice any side effects Devilsson. I'm not sure if they are any recorded.

Sorry, no dice on centro, personally.

I don't know about the hardcore stuff (like mofadanil), but for the over the counter stuff, the racetams are probably the best for improved cognitive function.

Any updates to this thread? Did anyone ever try Madmick's premium formula? Or any other custom formulas people have had success with?
