Recommend me some cheap food for snacking
I'm trying to improve my diet and I've cut out all soda and only have the occasional coffee, however, I think I'm lacking when it comes to food. I don't get enough vegetables and I often eat frozen foods and tv dinners (yeah, I know it's shit).
I've had tuna recommended to me before, but out of all fish, it tastes the worst to me and I can't stand it.
I do eat a lot of plain turkey sandwiches (whole wheat bread) though, and when I'm not lazy I'll make homemade protein bars out of muscle milk, peanut butter, milk, and whole oats.
So if I'm between meals and want to get something small (preferably cheap) into my body, what would be good?
oatmeal?
chicken breasts?
glass of water+protein mix?
yogurt?
fruit?
Much thanks.

peanut butter and jelly or banana on whole wheat bread.
more expensive: almond butter. spread it thinner.
bananas, apples, oranges, carrots, celery, raisins, other stuff you can keep in the fridge for a longer time.
i also like to keep bags of frozen berries, and pop a couple in my mouth when i want something sweet. or you can throw them in the blennder and make a quick smoothie

What I do is just cook a whole cookie sheet of turkey burgers at once. Then just nuke one when I need a snack.

Beef jerky, granola (cheapest if you make it yourself, bulk bins are a close second), fruit and nuts...

I do eat a lot of bananas, but I'm trying to branch out a little bit.
What kinds of fish come in a can besides tuna? I can't stand tuna but I like most other fish.

Mackerel and sardines. You can get them in different sauces too if you find them too fishy.
I should ask tho whether you want snack food ideas for when you`re home or out. This is the stuff I usually have when out.
