Magnesium may have lower bioavailability when taken with calcium, but the combination is often recommended because taking both together helps to prevent excesses of one or the other.
I wonder how I should interpret and apply this.

Isn't it quite hard to have excess calcium? Multivits generally have a tiny amount, and a 100ml glass of milk contains something like 15% RDA of calcium or even lower than that ? Point is milk is generally known for being high in calcium, so aside from general dairy products where you guna get it from? And how are you going to end up with a significant excess.

And if the general consensus is that people take ZMA as 'athlethes' and due to this are low in Magnesium, having an excess of both would be pretty difficult?

Doesn't really seem like an issue with me. Getting calcium is not an issue. Magnesium can be. Take magnesium. Don't take calcium.

I just bought some today. Maybe with the GNC brand I'll finally have some funky dreams...

I'm kinda ticked with GNC right now, tho, KK. First, gnc.com had problems with my order and cancelled it. I wanted it sooner rather than later, so I looked up the stores in Nashville, and I ended up goin' to 2 different GNCs, since the first one (which has crappy hours to begin with) didn't have it. And then at the second one, when I got there, there was a sign up, "Back in 5 minutes." I waited 10 until the guy finally came out of the store next door... I think I need to take my ZMA, relax, and go to sleep. lol.

ZMA gives me vivid nightmares, so i stopped taking it long ago. i figured the sleep i was losing nightly negated any sort of "test boosting" effects it was reported to have had. I've come to a point in my life to where if i feel that i need extra testosterone that bad i'll get it from an exogenous source

Er, ZMA wasn't giving you any nightmares. That's not quite how the mind works. Your own mind was giving you those nightmares, the ZMA was just getting you into deep enough sleep for your unconscious mind to deliberate that deeply.

Remember, nightmares are nothing more than our unconscious mind worrying about the same shit as our conscious mind does, only without our ability to control the imagery. Most of them area easily enough explained by someone who knows what they're doing.

GNC's are sucking altogether right now. Our store rocks, but it's one of very few. And the Corporation is so terrible I'll be glad to fulfill my goal of not wanting to work for GNC any longer as of this year.
