Does anyone have a good website I can show my friend??
Basically, my friend came over last night and I was talking to him. He was fat when he was a kid, and he got made fun of for it. He then went away to school in high school and he came back big and jacked. He did have an eating disorder though (anorexia), so that is the background.
He comes over last night and is talking about how he is getting fat (he looks big and jacked to me, not fat at all) and all my friends are telling him he is being stupid. Then he tells me how he has been lifting a lot and doing a lot of cardio. So I was like "yeah, how many calories a day are you eating, like 4,000?" And he says "nah, I eat about 1200 calories a day." I tried to express that this is horrible and he needs to be eating like three times that, but he was like "nah, my body doesn't handle lots of calories well." Basically what I think is happening is that his muscles are just getting eaten up and he keeps on eating less because he sees that his little bit of belly fat isn't going away. I sent him a link to a calorie per day calculator and tried to tell him this, but I don't know if it will get through. Do you guys have a link to something that could help him realize that if he ate more, he would actually gain muscle and have lower body fat? I am just worried about him.

Well, lets be honest. Eating disorders, are called Disorders for a reason. He won't even See a larger guy (or whatever he's going for), which is hwy women who are anorexics keep getting skinner and skinner, but still see some ugly fat slob.
Refer him to a therapist, or bring it up, etc. You can't help him.

as someone who did the whole cutting my calories to nothing... its bad for you. i lost a lot of weight, gained half of it back. and it was even harder to get it off again normally. if he works out as much as he says he does he should be eating at least 3000. if not at least eat 2500. lower than that is just gonna hurt him in the end.

Try finding him some serious weed. I had an ex that had an eating disorder. Got her on my little plan and she actually started to love food... maybe even a little too much. Needless to say, I had to dump her after she gained about 20lbs.

....but funny on all levels!
You cannot honestly recomp your body without calories. Tell your buddy to do what he wants, sit back, watch him fail miserably, chastize him for failing, then maybe he'll be ready to get serious. Getting serious including educating yourself. Apparently he's not ready to do that
Tough love my friend, tough love
