Protein shake recipes

Sorry if this has been posted before, I am sure it has been gone over many a time.

I just want your opinions on what is best to put in a protein shake.

Heres mine.

1 banana
2 teaspoons glucose
2 eggs
Half pint of milk
drizzle or two of honey

It tastes great and I am sure theres more than enough protein and just enough carbs (this is to be drank after a morning training session with possibly some cardio 2 hrs later)

Only thing that is bothering me now is that the legend Randy Couture said on all access he eats no dairy. Now this confused me a little bit.
Why no dairy?
I am assuming eggs are ok, but now I am questioning the milk, I tried putting a qtr milk and a qtr water and I dont think the eggs mixed as well as they do with 1/2 a pint milk.

Any suggestions?? Much appreciated.

didnt he say the diary builds up acidity which leads to muscle sourness? hmm, guess thats something you will have to try out for yourself, unless you arnt sore i wouldnt worry about randys diet, its probably taloured to his needs and what not.

it's all relative I believe, I can't have the milk in my shake because I am working on weightloss, but it was fine when I was wanting to stay at the plateau I was at..

I have

1 bannana
2 tblspoon yogurt (low fat)
half cup oats
couple strawberries
whey protien
water

tastes fine, get good carbs for a PWO drink, I usually drop the oats for spinache but i cant eat it right now due to some allergic thing going on... but yeah tastes good to me.

and yeah, I agree, i'd substitue the eggs with whey, and just have the eggs later but cook them. People get freaky about the 'omg eggs not cooked = potential diseases!' stuff, which can happen but its like 1-30 eggs or something, or 1-300 i forget.

never thought about low fat yoghurt... sounds good but thats more dairy though right??

i suppose if i used low fat yoghurt i could use water and sack the milk. if i blended the yoghurt and eggs together first perhaps that would work... *scratches head!!

i already substituted oats with the glucose. reason being the oats was messy and didnt all blend up properly thus lackin professional protein shake feel, lol.
they sure tasted better than glucose though!

i would definitely add some whey i will have to get some, i thought there would be enough protein what with the banana and eggs but sure, some whey powder couldnt hurt!!

yeah its a dairy, its mostly for taste though, so u can drop the honey and yeah the milk too. Yogurt mixes well with water and whatever whey you are using.

theres no protien in a banana, just carbs really. simple carbs at that I believe. it's good for you, but not from a protien aspect.

I was waiting for someone to post the PWO shake thread.
yay

For the TS, Randy follows an "alkaline/acidity" based diet. Works well for him, maybe you too. Depends on your goals and such though.

And raw eggs, you only get about 17% of the protein compared to cooked (cooked egg white = 100% BV).
