precision nutrition

In the 7 habits, it says that you can eat fruits and veg carbs with every meal and other carbs during and pwo.
It might be a stupid question but is potato allowed cus its a vegetable, so are you allowed baked, boiled, mash potatoes with every meals?

No. It has a pretty high GI rating. You can have it PWO though.

When something has more starch content, wouldn't it be more beneficial BEFORE the workout as opposed to after, when you no longer need extra energy.

What is the reasoning behind this?

Huh?? No longer need energy after a workout? Whatchoo talkin bout, Willis? Potatoes are a good PWO meal component for replenishing glycogen stores. Though a lower GI food like wild rice might be better.

And since when are potatoes a vegetable???

Well, obviously you need to replenish and restore, but not for short-term performance. Guess that was poorly stated.

A potato immediately pre-WO won't do anything that vegetables and lean meats can't.

Don't forget the good non-leafy veggies like broccoli, asparagus, green beans, peas, and the like.
