Pre and Post training meal question

I've been having a hard time trying to figure out a routine meal consumption for pre and post training. What would you guys recommend I eat before i train and how many hours before should i eat? Also my training ends pretty late, 8 sometimes 9 and i don't get home till close to 10 o clock. I know its bad to eat at certain times at night so what could i eat that i wouldn't have a negative effect on my body? What do you guys normally do for your meals?

You should really read the FAQ and do a search of the forum.

All your questions will be answered more that sufficiently.

Eating at night =/= bad.

Yes, read the FAQ.

After that, maybe update your post with some more info -

What kind of training are you doing? Weights, MMA, ballroom dancing?
How long do you train for?
Do you need to be a certain weight? If so are you close or far over?

I did the exact same for years.

I'd try to eat about 1 to 1.5 hours before before. Not tons, maybe some yam or sweet potato (about half of one), some eggs or chicken and some veggies. Again, not enough to feel 'full', but enough that I wouldn't die midway through training. I'd often eat a banana or Cliff bar right before (about 15-20 minutes).

Bring a decent PWO drink (Gatorade and Whey) and eat right when ya get home. Rice, pasta and some lean protein.
