Turns out it was a 40-something guy out jogging. Long story short, he was in full cardiac arrest, but we were able to defib him back to a perfusing rhythm, and he ended up recovering fully in ICU.
I was lucky enough to be the medic who transported him to another facility a few weeks later; I had the chance to chat with him for a while regarding the incident, his eating habits, lifestyle, etc etc. He was an extremely healthy guy, excellent dietary habits, in great aerobic cardiovascular shape, and not obese by any means.
One thing that struck me (in hindsight) was his daily consumption of peanut butter---not hydrogenated, trans-fat loaded peanut butter, but ANPB.
His angiogram had shown massive LCA and LCX blockage of more than 90%. He ended up having two stents put in.
Coincidence? Maybe. Genetics? Probably. Was it the peanut butter? Who knows. Some unknown interaction with the lectin and glucose? Fucked if I know.
Bottom line, for me, is this: It's not worth it. I can pick from a plethora of different nut butters (actually made from nuts, not legumes) like almond and hazelnut. I don't NEED peanut butter. If it's all a farce, that's fine. If not, I've done myself some good.

Scary stuff - I'm definitely going to cut down, if not eliminate, my consumption.
