Paleo Shake N' Bake- 4 Boneless, skinless chicken breast (preferably free-range organic)
- 3/4 cup cashews
- 2 tbsp organic virgin coconut oil
- Salt, pepper and basil to taste
Coat the chicken with the coconut oil; you may have to heat briefly in the microwave. Chop the cashews in a food processor until fine, and place the coated chicken and cashew "flour" into a large ziplock. Make sure it's closed, and shake until chicken is coated.
Place coated chicken in a baking dish, and top with pepper, salt, and basil; I randomly picked these, but it seemed to work well.
Bake for 30 minutes at 350F. I threw together a quick spinach salad topped with cherry tomatoes and feta cheese, along with a small bowl of sliced cucumber splashed with apple cider vinegar.

Stuffed Pepper Salad:
1 Bell pepper, cut in half top to bottom (I prefer orange)
1 hard boiled egg, chopped
3 tbs guacamole
1tbs chives
caviar (I like salmon row)
sour cream
butter/oil of choice
1. Brush the inside of the pepper and edges lightly with butter/oil and broil until the edges char a bit (10 minutes or so)
2. Put half of the guacamole in each pepper
3. Ditto with the egg
4. Add caviar to taste
5. Add a little bit of sour cream if it fits your goals
6. Sprinkle the chives over it

Tried this last night (though with boneless thighs) using thyme, rosemary, garlic, and a bit of sage for seasoning and it was incredible.

Simple Broccoli Recipe
Hi all,
My wife's grandmother cooks the most amazing traditional Italian dishes. No matter how simple and plain the dish is, it always ends up tasting incredible.
One of my fav's is her boiled broccoli.
A few weeks ago I got the recipe off her and have made this dish a few times since then.
I know that by cooking the broccoli you lose nutrients, but this is still a tasty dish nonetheless.
Ingredients: - Broccoli
- 2 large cloves of Garlic
- Butter (she uses olive oil, but I prefer the taste of butter)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Lemon Juice
Method: - Peel the garlic and chop each clove into 3 pieces
- Place the garlic and chopped broccoli florets into a saucepan with water and bring to the boil.
- After 7 or 8 minutes, take the saucepan off the stove and drain the water.
- Add the butter ( I'm on a LC diet so I use a fair bit of butter ) or Olive Oil
- Season with Salt and Pepper to taste
- Lower the heat and gently fry the broccoli for 2 or 3 minutes.
- Add the juice of half a small lemon
Some freshly chopped herbs would go nice with this too.
Enjoy.

Man. I had MDA's caveman cookies. They are the bomb. I have found the perfect treat for me when I am in the munchy craving mood. Especially after sex, I have a huge sugar craving and this does it for me rather than jumping for some kind of junk food. Here's the recipe. You guys gotta try it. Make sure you grind the almonds first before you mix it with anything else though.
-------------------------------------------------
Apple Caveman Cookies:
Ingredients
- 1 granny smith apple de-seeded
- 1 cup almonds (or other nut)
- 1/2 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
- 1 teaspoon evoo
- 1 Egg
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except for egg in a food processor and pulse.
2. Mix in egg.
3. Form into patties. (I made 5 per batch)
4. Bake at 350 degrees until done. (Mine took 45 minutes. These definitely have more moisture than the peach patties)
Apple Strawberry, Apple Blueberry or Other:
- Add in 1/2 cup of berries for pulse. (I used freeze-dried because I had them).
These were very easy and turned out quite good. The wife is happy. They would be pretty good with a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg as well.

No Bread Gazpacho
It's a soup meant to be eaten cold, good for spring/summer.
Super easy, totally customizable. While maybe not the greenest group of veggies, it's different, easy and tasty.
3 Tomatoes
1 Onion
1 Cucumber
1 Green Pepper
1 Red Pepper
1 Hungarian/Banana/Mild/Serrano Pepper or Whatever
5 Garlic Cloves
1 tsp or 2 sprigs Oregano
1 tsp or 2 sprigs Basil
1/2 tsp Black Pepper, ground
2 tbsp Vinegar
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
1 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Worchestershire
1 c Water/Broth
Wash everything and peel the onion and cucumber
Seed the tomatoes and peppers
Chop veggies in half and set half aside
Dice remaining veggies and toss in a bowl
Chop reserved veggies in small enough chunks for your blender and in they go
Add remaining ingredients and blend untill smooth
Add liquid to solid
Chill and eat
Keep refridgerated, should last 4-6 days.
Supposed to be made with 4 slices stale bread, I skip it. Some blend the whole thing, some blend 3/4, but I like some chunks. I usually use homemade beef/chicken broth only 1/2 the hungarian pepper, and blend all the garlic. Otherwise, it's too spicy for my tastes and I'm not a fan of chewing raw garlic peices. Substitute with what you have, use parsley instead of orageno or thyme instead of basil and omit/replace what as you see fit. Use more broth/water, less or none, whatever you want. Don't be shy to add some shredded chicken or something and maybe grill the peppers, onions and/or garlic.

Here's an easy Chicken soup I have on the burner right now.
2 Cornish Hens, or use a Chicken. I get a smoking deal on the hens.
Water or Stock. I use homemade stock, save chicken bones/scraps and boil, strain and freeze.
2lbs Carrots (2 bags)
1lb Celery (2 hearts/1 bag)
2 Onions
1/4c dry Barley
3 Bay leaves
1tsp Dried Parsley or 2 Sprigs Fresh
1tsp Dried Thyme or 2 Sprigs Fresh
Toss chickens and bay leaves in a pot, cover with water and or stock. Let boil.
When chickens are cooked, (I usually overcook 'em and let the liquid reduce over a simmer for an hour) remove and let cool, covered on a plate or something. Then pick the meat off and return to pot. Toss the scraps and bones aside to make stock for next time or just pitch 'em.
Optionally, strain broth through a strainer, or scoop bits out. I often skip this.
Wash and chop veggies, add to broth. Toss in barley and spice.
Simmer till veggies are to your liking. Here I overcook as well, I like em mushy.
If you reduce it too far just add more water.
Well, that was a lot of typing for something that is painfully easy, it's pretty much just boil, pick, chop, boil eat.

Chili
46 oz can of V8 or Tomato Juice
3 Cups Dry Beans, soaked (or 2 15oz cans)
4 lb Ground Meats (or 2 lb Ground, and 2 lb Combo of Stew/Chopped Beef, Shredded Chicken, or Leftover Pork Chops!)
2 Onions Chopped
2 Green Pepper Chopped
1 tsp Cumin
4 tbsp Chili Pepper
1 qt Tomatoes Diced (4 Fresh, if Canned Avoid Loads of Added Sugar)
12 oz Dark Beer
1 Habenero
2 Jalepenos
2 Clove Garlic Minced
Splash Oil
in a big enough pot for the whole thing, heat the oil and garlic till brown
add onions till clear
add ground meat and chili pepper/cumin stir till meat browns
in a pan, cook up the stew and chopped meat till cooked and add to pot, drippings too
toss in remaining ingredients and let simmer till the peppers are how you like them and the stew meat is fully cooked
serve with cheese, chives, sour cream or whatever
Ok, I know D&S says V8 is shit, but I take that to mean it's shit as a veggie replacement. Don't use Trader Joes V8, it's got an overpowering lemon or something flavor, not tomato. Omit the peppers and beer if you like. Often I'll mix ground beef, chicken, pork and turkey and just cook the whole fucking farm, be creative. This makes a big ass pot, so maybe halve the recipe.
