Eggs
So I have been reading around this forum a lot and have realized that eggs are not the bad food they have been made out to be. However, my parents express concern over my eating 3-4 with breakfast everyday and I think their fears stem from my family's history of high cholesterol. They are smart people, not complete ignoramuses but I need a good way to explain the benefits and minimal/ no risk of eating eggs. Can anyone explain to me in simple terms that my parents can understand the amazing benefits of eggs and why eating them wont kill me.

The cholesterol in eggs is good cholesterol, not bad. And if you're eating grass-fed eggs, then the yolks contain healthy omega 3 fats as well.

Yes. Those percents are completely inaccurate.

Eggs contain both HDL and LDL. I have heard eating about a dozen eggs a week is healthy and wont threaten your levels of bad cholestrol. I would not recommend eating 4 eggs a day 7 days a week though. Everything is good in moderation.
To get your parents to consent, teach them about good cholestrol and start by having them get a dozen eggs a week. More info on good cholestrol: High-density lipoprotein - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Eggs are great but if you are eating 4 eggs with the yolk each morning that may be too much fat.. I would suggest like 1 yolk for every 3 eggs.

You could simply have your cholesterol levels checked now and again in 6 months. 6 months of eating eggs will not kill you even if they are right. After the 6 months, you will know for yourself and they should believe you.

i agree, 28 eggs per week is probably excessive in any respect. still, i recommend telling your parents to suck it, its your life you can do whatever you want. something like that, itll probably go over really well...

Uh Oh! I usually eat about 12 eggs perday :[. Anyone else eating tons of eggs? If you mostly eat the whites is 12 a day still too much? Generally 4-6 whole eggs in an omelette for breakfast, then 6 hard boiled over the course of the day w/o the yolks.
