Maltodextrin over steel oats?

How much better is it to have maltodextrin and dextrose as carb sources PWO then steel oats? The reason im askin is ive got loads of oats and no malto and would prefer not to be spendin any money at the min if poss.

for PWO, its more about the GI (http://www.glycemicindex.com/). Save the oats for breakfast.

Is that because I want to cause an insulin spike to hopefully create an anabolic environment? Wont the semi skimmed milk do that?

For a PWO shake, the maltodextrin is preferred. But in the PWO meal (following the PWO shake)- I still prefer whole food. And yes, breakfast (or any other times of the day).
