I use whey after almost any workout, although I sometimes don't take it if I do lighter endurance work like LSD running etc - there was actually a thread on this the other day posted by MikeMartial which questioned the impact of PWO drinks in relation with light endurance workouts (note - take it with a pinch of salt though). If you want to read more about post workout nutrition then you should look at John Berardi's website
www.johnberardi.com - there's a lot of good advice on there about what to eat, just type in something like 'post workout' into the search function and it has some good articles to read, it also goes into details about the ratio of protein/carbs in relation to bodyweight but even if it's a bit too specific for you the general advice is good.
