Your thoughts on glycocyamine

Thoughts? Is this just one supplement company attacking their competition or is there as much to this as D.B. makes it sound? Something tells me the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Ahhh, yes. I thought this had come up before, but I couldn't remember if it was here. Not to say I completely discredit the article, but it's hard to put stock in something published by a supplement company that's written in criticism of another supplement company.

In response to your post on the T-nation thread, you will be told that Dave Barr is not a Biotest employee. Biotest has chosen to publish his article and pay him for his service, but I believe he is a freelance writer and not on the Biotest payroll.

Is it in the interest of T-mag to publish this article knocking a major competitor of their protein? Of course. Is it in the interest of Barr to sell an article, and is it a safe bet that Biotest would pay for an article of this type so long as it holds some logical and scientific backing? Definitely.

I like T-nation articles and writers, but that board is a suck-fest. There is no way that ****bolic Drive tastes better than any MM flavor, and a number of those lemmings are trying to throw that blatant ass-kissing out there.

Just stopping to make sure we don't get confused about what supplement we're talking about here. It looks like a hybrid word in the subject title:

Glucosamine- a supplement for joint health
Glycocyamine- the supplement in question; a creatine conversion agent

Seriously.

Although the comforting reminder to me is that there's no shortage of beta males out there for me to control and manipulate.

It seems that weak minds are often attached to strong bodies, although from their deadlift thread and other polls it appears that the most puny man on the interweb pulls 405 and has 16" arms.

They pay some of the top writers in the business, but I can't directly cite their articles because of the redundant infusion of advertisements. Great articles, but even I can only take so much infomercial. I understand that it must be so, as the lemmings eat that ad copy up, and they've got some in their kool-aid crowd who spend big freakin' money. I guess the borderline Mike Sloan level hyperbole catches the attention and wallets of more than just teenagers.

On the other hand, T-mag is a free service that offers tons of quality information. I've read that site for years and I've only bought a book (which offered little beyond the free articles). I've received free samples of their protein, bars, and stimulant. I'd bet that the vast majority of readers are even worse than me, totally leeching. If it takes that type of advertising to keep the articles coming, then so be it.

I guarantee BulkNutrition/1fast's bulk Beta-alanine sales went through the roof following the articles by Dr. Stout.

T-nation is not the most reliable site out there. I prefer sites that sell more then one product because they are less likely to be as biased because they don't care what product you buy as long as you buy something. But as you know lot of people will jump on this and say how MM is useless now....

Couldn't agree w/ you guys more. Some good articles there, but it is nut-hugger central.

Mick, fixed the title. Silly me w/ the typo.
