A Little Help With My Eating Schedule

Hey guys, I've run into a little eating schedule problem. I wonder if any of you have experience with this, or some advice to offer.

I recently upped my training schedule to 4 nights a week (kickboxing & grappling). My classes start at 19:00 and end at roughly 21:00.

I eat a fairly clean balanced diet, breakfast of oats, snack on apples, carrots, oranges etc until lunch. For lunch I'll have either a pasta or tuna salad; then resume snacking on fruits til I go home from work at 17:00.

Now as far as dinner goes, should I eat before I train, or after I train? The problem is, if I eat before I train it'll be like literally just before I go train. The problem with eating after I train is that I only end up eating at about 21:30, which can't be good.

Or am I doing it all wrong? Should I change my eating schedule up completely?

If you train/workout as late as I do, how have you managed your eating schedule?

Eat something before you train and then have a PWO meal after. You should never lift, exercise, train, etc. without some food in you. Have a protein shake before if you're in a rush, other than that, I always suggest real food as PWO. I prefer real food before and after, but sometimes that's not always possible.

As long as eating late doesn't cut into your rest you'll be fine.

I don't train with food in my stomach, so I have to make my post-training meals quick and efficient if I want enough regular sleep AND enough food. Goddamn 8-5 white collar jobs screwing with my warrior activities...

Any reason for saying this?

I've never noticed a performance drop off while lifting/working out fasted

Isn't it because bloodflow is directed to the stomach to aid in digestion and absorption, leaving your muscles lacking in oxygen? Just an informed guess really.

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a PWO meal dude? Is there no harm in eating a light meal at about 21:30? If that's the case then I guess I have nothing to worry about.

A protein shake before training is a damn good idea, thanks.
