Homemade Energy Drink: Some Ingredients in Capsule-Form?

I just got the supplies to make my own red bull style energy drink, but some of the things are in capsule-form. For example, the Taurine, Phenylalanine, Tyrosine, and Caffeine are capsules while the Inositol is straight powder. The B-6 is capsule and the B-12 is a sublingual tablet. Should I pull apart the plastic shell and mix it in or should I mix only what's in powder form and swallow the pills?

either one is probably fine. be aware though, that pills are sold in pill form for a reason, typically their contents taste like bitter asshole. I wonder though, why you're doing this in the first place.

To save money mostly. Energy drinks are so expensive and I'm building up a tolerance to them. This way I can customize it; I'll probably add larger amounts of Inositol because it really helps the "feel good" chemicals in the brain.

By the way, I'm sure it's gonna taste nasty as hell, but I like the saying in bodybuilding, "Taste means nothing."

NEWS FLASH: I made a drink and it was the best energy-drink-buzz I ever had. Here's what I did:
Twinlab Phenylalanine: 1 pulled apart 500mg capsule
Twinlab Mega Taurine: 1 pulled apart 1000mg capsule
Twinlab Tyrosine Plus: 2 pulled apart capsules, that's one serving at 500mg, 1000mg Vitamin C, 100mg Vitamin B-6
Twinlab B-12 dots: 1 pulverized sublingual 500mcg tablet
Prolab Caffeine: 1 pulverized 200mg tablet

I was going to add some Inositol powder, but it is on back-order. I mixed it in a cup of water and slammed it. I felt great for hours. No problems with digestion, and yes, it was bitter as hell, but I can handle "bad taste."

If what I am doing is bad in some way, tell me, I welcome suggestions and criticisms. I'll keep you guys posted on any modifications that I make.

If you cook it on a bunson burner at 300 degrees you'll be able to freebase it....

Mix it in some sugar free fruit juice, and then add some splenda to take away from the bitter taste.

Damn, I'm building up a tolerance to it. Day 1 kicked my ass, Day 2 kicked it a little less, today I barely felt it. It's probably just me, I build up tolerances to supplements quite often. Tomorrow, I'm gonna add another 1000mg of Taurine. That would be equal to what's in Monster low-carb. NEED MORE SUGGESTIONS! I'll let you know how it goes.

I doubt your tolerance would build up that quick. I think there is a better chance for a placebo effect. I mean the first day you are like "Wow, this new drink, lets see how it goes!!!" and you may feel more. It may be loosing its luster after every day. If you wanna see, take 3 days off and try it again.

As far as what to add... I never got much frorm B vitamins. Just keep the caffeine high and maybe add ephedra. You'll be fine.

NEWS FLASH: I added another 1000mg of Taurine powder to the mix and it hooked me up! Maybe the best e-drink feeling ever. It gave me a good energy boost and my overall sense of well-being was great.

Still waiting on the inositol powder on backorder. Again, I will update you with anything that I add to the mix.
