I don't eat pork at all myself, not for religious reasons but because I believe it may be one of the worst possible things you can put into your body. I'm not getting on my high horse because I eat shitty foods time to time, but Stewart wasn't saying anything against pork, what he was saying is that you can eat in moderation instead of changing the genetic code/cells of an animal. For the record I would rather eat the regular pork than genetically modified pork. I certainly don't trust anything "genetically modified" even though I probably eat altered food everyday and don't know it. We have begun the slide on a slippery slope with the genetic and chemical engineering of foods.

Around here, organic pork has to be fed with organic food to be called "organic", so they're still fed with corn and other cereals, so they are not as loaded with good nutrients as wild boars obviously.

They are not raised in concentration camps though, so it might be slightly better for our health, but the main goal of organic farming is not health, it's cruelty agaisnt animals and respect of nature ( no pesticides, etc ).

There are also organic farmers around here who bring the pigs to the mountains so they can eat natural food, roots, chestnuts, not only cereals. It's not that expensive if you buy it directly at the farm, of course when it reaches the big cities, it's a rare produce so everybody takes a huge margin, and it becomes unafordable.

yummy

buy local organic food !

That's one of my most beloved quotes. Especially the last part.
