Fish oil and tattooing?

Hey Guys, I'm going to be getting a new tattoo pretty soon and I take fish oil regularly. I take 8 to 10 caps a day, its the Kirkland Brand you get in the huge bottle at Costco. I was wondering though, do you think I should cut back or plain stop taking for a few days before I head to the tattoo shop, I'm just worried about bleeding all over the place. Or am I just crazy here?

don't worry about it. i'm covered in tattoos and i take 10 caps a day and i've never had a problem. what's funny is that i've found that my blood actually clots faster and i heal much quicker than i use to. though i'm sure alot of that has to do with the fact that i eat extremely clean now and my health is 100 times better than what it was. don't sweat it, it'll be a negligible difference if there is any at all

Well, when I had a dental implant put in it bled and bled. Like, unusually. The dentist was really surprised.

I take 8-9 a day.

I think he's checking to make sure that fish oil isn't a blood thinner/vasodialator.

What do you mean?? As opposed to not taking any? Or not taking 20-30g like Poliquin says? Or not taking 3g like an average person is advised to?

Fish Oil has anti-coagulant effects, which may lead to excessive bleeding in some people at varying levels of consumption.

Yep.

I don't think I'd worry about it for tattoos. Now if you were going into a surgery or signing up for your local sword fight... I'd consider backing off until it's over.
