fish oil and omega fatty acids

Anyone knowledgable about this stuff? My joints and ligaments are not the best from genetics so I try to pretect them the best i can with some PT movements and lifts to strength the areas. I'm not double-jointed but I have loose shoulders and some crap like that. I'm hoping there's something that will keep everything strong and healthy and stop all the ligament akward feeling and pop-snap-grind sounds I hear when performing certain movements.

the answer is "YES, you should take it, and it will help"...

this topic has been discusses thoroughly many many times before, and i'm sure everybody does not want to rehash old info too many times as it gets tedious

i would start out with a joint support. that would probably work the best. get something that promotes cartlige growth and that should help a lot.

Anyone know about Ligaplex II from Standard Process Inc? My Chiropractor is also a nutritionalist and she swears by the stuff, but it tears up my stomach if i take the roccommended 2 caps per meal so I take a lot less to get used to it.

I have friend who had surgery on her knees and she took glucosamine. She says it works pretty well but it'll take some time. I've been taking Glucosamine, MSN, and fish oil for my joints but I have yet to see progress (a month).

Glucosamine Sulfate 1500mg a day divided into 2-3 tabs per day would be best for your cartilage/joint integrity. Fish oil would be most beneficial as an anti-inflammatory agent and will benefit your immune and cardiovascular health as a plus. I have worked extensively in omega-3 fatty acid research and there are more and more health/disease indications for its utility. I take both and feel you will not really feel the improvement as much as you will hopefully enjoy less joint and inflammatory "flare-ups" by taking them. Good luck

From all of the naturalists I've spoke w/about omega-3 they recommend Carlson's brand. It's call Carlson's Very Finest Fish Oil. Get the liquid form because it's more cost effective & better absorbed. The least expensive place to net buy is on vitacost.com.

if any of you are in the SEA area or tri cities area of WA, my dad is a doc and he has created the purest, most potent omega-3 fish oil supplement...it's great stuff, stay away from the costco brands with their nasty farm raised, bottom feeder fish...it helps so much with joint pain, crepitus (joint noise), and also all forms of inflammation...even acne HA!
