Mercury poisoning is subtle and can take years to develop. I wouldn't want to mess with it so I'll stick to the recommended dosages... The FDA lists it at 1ppm which isn't much... if one is trying to eat clean and healthy, why wouldn't this be taken into account like anything else?

The FDA says even pregnant women can eat tuna up to 2 times a week safely. I just feel the dangers of mercury poisoning are overblown.
As far as farmed vs wild caught, farmraised fish have the same health risks as far as pcbs and mercury as wild, if not more. Why? Because farm raised fish are fed fish! (along with grain, and copious amounts of antibiotics.)
Also, the fatty acids profiles are never as good in farmed fish as the most similar wild alternative because their goal is to get the fish to market size as quick as possible, on the cheapest feed possible.
