Fat Smash

I honestly have no idea about this book, but I saw it at the library a couple weeks ago while looking for a book. Does any body have any experience with the 'Fat Smash Diet' by Dr. Ian Smith.

Yes, he is the guy from Celebrity Fit Club, but I was wondering about the book mainly for the healthy food recipes and if I could pick something else up from it then even better.

Any body have any experience and/or opinions on this book?

I have taken a look at this book but have not read it indepth. To me, this diet seemed simialar to the South Beach Diet in that the diet is broken into phases. I do like that the first phase is a detox where you only eat fresh or steamed vegitables, lowfat foods and grilled lean meats. For someone who trains though it could be difficult to get the protien needed and feel you have enough energy during this phase. The other phases basically teach you how to eat healthy by bringing other types of food back into the diet. Dr. Ian does not want this diet to be a quick fix but he does say you can lose 5-10 pounds during the detox phase.

If you are looking to eat healthier I would think this would be a great diet.

I don't necessarily want to follow the diet, but I just want to use it for the recipes and to get an idea of what a proper meal should be. I want the recipes for some variety in my diet..

Any one else...

I think you could find plenty of recipes online for free that would work, or you could just buy a cookbook with some good recipes in it if thats all you want. Why pay for all the other junk if you dont want/need it?

From what I gather it's a pretty basic diet, ie: 4 meals, veggies, 2 'free' snacks adding to a total of 200 k/cal, blah blah blah. One guy was complaining the portions were too small, but who know what he was eating before. Looks like a standard diet putting an emphasis on portion control, low gi/gl carbs only, eating whole foods....the usual.

I was looking at the Berardi book (Gourmet Nutrition I believe?) but it was almost $100, and money is tight right now. Maybe I can get Berardi's book in my library..

Berardi's system, PN is the way to go. Even better than the book is the forum access which he and his team all post on regularly to help members who also post and help.

I just signed up over at PN. I'm considering the book, but it is $100, which will hurt. Does any body else have it, and if so how good is it?
