I wanted to throw this out to you all today to see what kind of reactions it gets.

DMSO: Many Uses, Much Controversy

To those who are familiar with and have used DMSO, I would like to hear from you.

Has anyone used a naturopathic physician who uses DMSO in theraputic applications?

are they allowed to? legally it can ONLY be used as a solvent... I thought maybe that's how any profession would have to use it, no matter what title you carried. Essentially meaning paying somebody to use DMSO means they could only use it for it's legal purpose of sale.

I have a reference at home with a list of Doctors by state who use DMSO with patients. I will supply some sources later this evening.

Never heard of DMSO until now. Shit is like a miracle, hehe. I would like to look into this more now. Thanks for bringing this up Chad.

In Canada, DMSO is currently only approved for a few very select chronic genitourinary conditions and is only available through prescription. Individuals who obtain DMSO from sources other than their pharmacy cannot be certain of the quality of the product they are using and it may contain additional medications or contaminants that could cause serious side effects. Despite the above, many Canadians continue to place themselves at potential risk by using DMSO for a wide variety of medical conditions, even though there is little or no scientific evidence that DMSO is effective in treating these conditions.

I just realized something very weird. That website I put up is from the Canadian Department of Defense section, not Health Canada. Odd.

I've got some pure DMSO and have used it topically on my back and elbows. Can't say I've noticed any benefit, really.
