can you be fit and still eat like normal?

i follow a normal blanced diet, cereal in morning and stuff, normally pasta at lunch and some kind of meat at dinner plus snacks from chocolate bars to apples, i consider myself fit and well tonned so have never thought about going on a specfic diet does going on one make a huge diffrence and is it worth it?

First and foremost: Women diet, men eat clean.

Secondly: If you had a turbo-charged vehicle that required premium, high ocatine fuel to run, what would happen if you used regular octane? It would run like shit, you'd get pre-ignition, and eventually cause damage to your engine.

What kind of vehicle are you training in?

What if you were say.... a yugo. Your such a crappy vehicle it is no longer beneficial or worth it to put premium gas in there. Im sure there are plenty of people this way. On to the for reals. I think your doing yourself a disservice if your working hard and not eating optimally (think how much better you could be??). But some athletes can get by eating not quite 100% and still perform well ( I hate them)

Your questions can't be answered.

1. Eating "normal" is a highly relative term. Normal to you is not normal to someone else.
2. People can differ quite drastically in their response to certain diet adaptations. You may not achieve anywhere near the level of fitness as someone else on a particular diet.
3. "Is it worth it?" cost vs. reward is also very relative.

Heh. Well, I like to think everyone has the potential to turn what they train in into a tubro-charge vehicle versus a Yugo. Dumping shitty fuel into the tank ain't gonna help the process. That was the basis of my analogy.

Some guys can out train their diet to an extent. My buddy from college is a triathlete with a shit diet, but his yearly physical is always squeaky clean.
