So here's the next installment of my Public Service Announcements about Sports Nutrition. Hope you guys are appreciating these. If any of you have seen a budding trend beginning with shitbirds like MuscleTech, this one is a little frightening because it's seeping into everyone else. By the looks of this, it looks like the people who actually make MuscleTech's products might actually be making Pro Performance now (it would make sense because MuscleTech is obviously a big GNC whore), and thus, Optimum Nutrition might sooner or later succomb.
Their newest POS, Wheybolic EXTREME!
They advertise this crap as a protein/Leucine matrix and it's replacing the Mega Whey Extreme I think (which sold like shit).
Now all of the hilarity is the blabitiflap on the box. The box, you know, with the pretty charts and shit...just like MuscleTech is doing. Apparently Wheybolic Extreme is "clinically tested."
The clinical test they refer to states that in an 8 week study a "matrix" of whey protein and leucine made for greater increase in strength and size combined with weight training. Greater than what? Glad you asked. Greater than PLACEBO. Placebo...think about that for a second. That's kind of like saying eating will be more beneficial than not eating. Strength and size gains from PROTEIN? Whoda thunk? I must tell everyone about this ground-breaking research.
Oh but there's more.
The "matrix" used in this study consisted of 20g of protein versus 6g of leucine. The interesting part is that Wheybolic Extreme is apparently a ratio of 60g of protein versus 7.7g of leucine. So this means two things:
1) They don't know how to do math to the degree that the study they boast for their product doesn't mathematically pertain to their product.
2) They think they're smarter than you. Because they're charging you more for the leucine, and you WILL see results...from the 60g of protein.
And the crowning jewel? The dynamite candles on the birthday cake that's destined to blow up in your faces? This little boast of theirs:
Quote:
1 Set Instead of 2
Wheybolic Extreme 60's clinically tested, anabolic module has been shown to provide the same performance benefits during resistance training with half the sets.

HA HA HA HA HA!!
That is all.
