I'm 84kg (185lb) and plan to take 7g a day. Does that sound about right, based on Monger's posts?

I can't really say; I was just speculating at it being nootropic due to the inhibition of GABA reuptake. I don't have any experience with BA, so I can't even comment on it personally, as others here can.

Thanks for the comment anyway Mike.
I found this article... Sleep Supplement
But it only really left more questions than answers, such as the "to be continued..." conclusion.

Hmm. It does mention nootropic effects,

Does carnosine have nootropic and/or anti-aging effects? It appears so, however that’s an article unto itself.

but doesn't go into detail.
I can't see caffeine interfering or exacerbating any effects of BA; if anything, preWO caffeine might even blunt the parethesia effects, making it desirable.
I'm interested to see how much actual buffering capability BA has, and if people will notice a difference during anaerobic exertion.

That should be fine according to the source I referenced. But like KK said,

In the clinical trials, nothing ever did better than 6.5g.

Any Precision Nutrition members here? Dr. JB posted an article he co-wrote regarding BA. The jist is...it works.
Anyways, I'm about 1 week into supplmenting with it, roughly 5 a day (740mg per 1/4 tsp, 1-1/2 tsp a day), and haven't noticed any significant impact. Recently, my workouts have really sucked, but that's probably coincidence. I'm feeling burnt out, tired and over-worked from my day job, compound that with travelling for work. I still definitely get body tingles, which seems to get magnified if I take it shortly before exercise. It's as if little electrodes are firing off all over my skin. Very annoying. Also, I've noticed I've been sweating fairly profusely, but that could also be from summer heat and inadequate gym AC.
I'm stuck in hotels this week, but I've got tiny baggies of supplements with me (pre-mixed protein, sugar, creatine, BA, etc.). I'll be mainly doing in-room/hotel-gym conditioning work, mostly body weight stuff like burpees or mountain climbers. If I'm feeling up for it, I'll go for another 100 burpee challenge, that should give me a better idea regarding the BA, despite only being a week into supplementing.

Yeah seriously, a whole shit-ton of work is being crammed down my pipe. Though, 20+ days out, I should be a lot better, and with regular supplementation, I can check performance numbers between then and pre-BA.

Got mine and started tonight. I took 3 grams (carb loaded) before sprints (which I've not done in ages)
Did 100 meters x 5, 1 minute rest between sprints. Again, I have no comparison to go by, but my legs weren't too bad as far as burning goes.
Other effects: the skin on my head felt twice as thick. Thankfully, I was expecting the tingling. I'll be taking 3 grams in the morning, and 3 before PM workouts. We'll see how this goes.

I took a full tsp, estimate 2.6g bulk powder, and felt none of the skin-tingling side effects.
No effect of note, however I've read it takes up to a month for full effect.
Anyone read of any issues with potential compromise or degradation with extended time in water?
